Coyotito, their son died because of the greediness of the Spaniards, evilness in Kino, and sneaky pearl buyers. Spaniards were the men who were involved in tracking Kino and his family and are blamed for Coyotito’s death. Hence the moral lesson we got from this story is about gratitude and the dangers of greed.

John Ernst Steinbeck Jr. was born on 27th February 1902 and died on 20th December 1968. he was an American author and won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962.
